Welcome to the Mathematics OER Smart Library! Our library offers a diverse range of materials—including videos, infographics, games, presentations, animations, and more—covering topics such as algebra, calculus, geometry, statistics, and probability. These resources are available in seven languages: English, Estonian, German, Portuguese, Romanian, Catalan, and Spanish. Additionally, our library includes materials accessible to visually impaired and color-blind individuals. These resources are designed to support educators, students, and researchers in secondary, vocational, and higher education institutions.

Description

After recalling the concepts of matrix in echelon form and of elementary operation (for either rows or columns), three basic utilities derived from Gaussian elimination are presented, pointing out in each case if the permitted elementary operations only act on the rows or only act on the columns, or can act on both rows and columns at the same time. These utilities are: rank of a matrix; determinant of a square matrix; basis and implicit equations of a subspace of a finite dimensional real or complex vector space. With examples and a quick test (editable pptx).
